A message from your President:
There will be an open meeting of the Association on 06/20/11 @ 7:30 @ iHOP, Plank Rd., Clifton Park, NY.
We will be discussing the Annual Picnic coming up on July 17th ; we will begin planning another showcase
that is scheduled for August 28th. As usual, the pre-meeting jam session starts at 5pm. If you're not a member,
but love country music, come see what we're all about. If you know someone who doesn't have e-mail but is
also a country music lover, let them know about this meeting and NECMA.
A big thank you to the bands Head West and The County Line Rebels for volunteering to perform at NECMA’s
showcase during the 1st Annual Mayfest held on 05/22/11 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Fonda, NY.
The event was sponsored by the Montgomery County Economic Development Agency and The Montgomery County
Chamber of Commerce. In exchange for NECMA providing the musical entertainment throughout the event, the
Montgomery County Economic Development Agency made a sizable donation to NECMA. We signed up some new
members and had some long expired members re-join. Things are looking up! This event will happen again in 2012
and we anticipate that NECMA will again be asked to provide the entertainment. Thanks to everyone who pitched in
to help during this event – our member volunteers are our most important asset and we appreciate your support.
The Rhythm on the Ridge Festival is coming up on June 11th at the Maple Ridge Ski Area in Mariaville. There are
quite a few NECMA member artists and bands that will be performing. NECMA will have a membership booth at
this event. We are looking for volunteer members to man the booth for us. So, if you’re available, let me know as
we will be setting up the schedule at the next meeting. Thank you to J.P. Yakel for setting up a $5.00 discount on
the regular admission price of $15.00. Just think, $10.00 gets you a whole day of music, crafters, vendors and more
you can’t beat that for a bargain.
